Koh Samui Travel Guide: Luxury Resorts, Best Beaches & Local Adventures

Koh Samui at a Glance: Island Luxury and Tropical Paradise
Koh Samui is one of Thailand’s most beloved islands, renowned for its diverse landscapes, lively nightlife, and luxurious resorts. Located in the Gulf of Thailand, Koh Samui boasts pristine beaches, lush jungles, and a laid-back island vibe that attracts everyone from honeymooners to adventurers. While the island has evolved into a luxury destination, it also offers a range of experiences, from exploring natural waterfalls and Buddhist temples to savoring delicious Thai cuisine at bustling night markets.
Island Layout: Koh Samui’s areas each bring something unique to the table, making it an island where visitors can experience contrasting atmospheres in one trip:
Chaweng: Known as the island’s main hub, Chaweng Beach is lively, with a long strip of restaurants, bars, and shops. The beach itself is bustling and is ideal for those looking for nightlife, entertainment, and a central location. We were considering the Sala Samui in this area, but ultimately decided we wanted a little more peace and quiet.
Lamai: Slightly quieter than Chaweng, Lamai Beach offers a similar experience but with a more relaxed vibe. The area has great beachside bars, restaurants, and local shops, making it popular with those wanting a balance of activity and tranquility.
Bophut and Fisherman’s Wharf: Located in the north, Bophut is a charming area with a traditional Thai feel. Fisherman’s Wharf, in particular, offers boutique shopping, dining, and a weekly night market, making it ideal for travelers looking for a more serene yet social atmosphere.
Maenam: This area offers a quieter, local experience, with a more traditional village feel and fewer tourist spots. Maenam Beach is long, wide, and ideal for those seeking a peaceful retreat.
Chaweng Noi: Located south of Chaweng, this beach offers a tranquil setting with beautiful, soft sand and clear water. The area is quieter than Chaweng and ideal for couples or anyone seeking a relaxing beach escape.
Why We Chose Fisherman’s Wharf and Chaweng Noi: For our stay, we opted to split our time between two areas—Fisherman’s Wharf in Bophut and Chaweng Noi—to experience the diversity of Koh Samui’s landscapes and vibes. Fisherman’s Wharf allowed us to enjoy the relaxed, traditional side of the island, with its charming shops, night markets, and more local feel. Chaweng Noi, on the other hand, offered a more luxurious, secluded experience, perfect for unwinding on a beautiful beach. Chaweng Noi was seriously one of the nicest beaches we’ve stayed at. You’ll see what we mean further on in this post.
How to Get to Koh Samui: Flights and Ferry Options
Koh Samui is one of Thailand’s most accessible islands, offering multiple ways to get there depending on your budget, schedule, and travel preferences.
✈️ By Air – The Fastest & Easiest Option
We opted to fly from Bangkok to Koh Samui, taking a Bangkok Airways flight (PG 145) from Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK). Koh Samui Airport (USM) is privately owned by Bangkok Airways, meaning they operate most flights, though some international routes are available, including direct connections from Singapore, Hong Kong, and Kuala Lumpur.
Flight Time: ~1 hour from Bangkok
Airlines: Bangkok Airways (domestic & international), Singapore Airlines, and some seasonal flights from other carriers
Pros: Super quick, comfortable, and lands just minutes from Samui’s main beaches
Cons: More expensive than other options due to Bangkok Airways’ monopoly
⛴️ By Ferry – Budget-Friendly but Longer
For those looking to save money, taking a ferry from the mainland is a popular option. You can fly into Surat Thani (URT) or Nakhon Si Thammarat (NST) airports, then transfer to Donsak Pier for a ferry to Koh Samui.
Step 1: Fly to Surat Thani (~1 hr from Bangkok, cheaper than flying to Samui)
Step 2: Take a bus (~1.5 hrs) from the airport to Donsak Pier
Step 3: Take a ferry to Koh Samui (~1.5 hrs)
There are three main ferry companies operating routes from Donsak Pier to Koh Samui:

Navigating Koh Samui: Transportation Tips
Exploring Koh Samui is an adventure in itself, and the island offers several convenient ways to get around, depending on your preferences and comfort level:
Renting a Scooter
The most popular and cost-effective way to get around Koh Samui is by renting a scooter. This allows you to explore the island at your own pace, visiting beaches, temples, and hidden gems without relying on schedules or taxis. Scooter rentals are widely available across the island, with daily rates typically ranging from THB 150-300 depending on the model.
Requirements and Tips for Renting a Scooter:
International Driver’s License: To rent a scooter legally in Thailand, you’ll need an international driver’s license. Some rental shops may overlook this, but it’s important to follow local regulations to avoid fines or complications with insurance.
Safety Gear: Always wear a helmet, and ensure the rental shop provides one. It’s also a good idea to inspect the scooter for damage and take photos before renting to avoid disputes.
Dangers: While renting a scooter can be fun and practical, Koh Samui’s roads can be challenging for inexperienced riders. Some roads are steep, winding, or poorly maintained, and traffic can be unpredictable. Accidents involving scooters are unfortunately common, so ride carefully and stick to quieter routes if you’re a beginner.
Using Grab
Grab, Southeast Asia’s ride-hailing app, is widely used in Koh Samui and offers a convenient, hassle-free way to get around. It’s perfect for those who prefer not to drive themselves, with transparent pricing and easy app-based bookings.
Tips for Using Grab:
Grab cars and motorbikes are available for hire, with motorbike taxis being a cheaper option for short trips.
Prices are competitive, and the app eliminates the need to haggle.
You’ll need an internet connection to book a ride, so having a local SIM card or access to Wi-Fi is recommended.
Private Car and Driver
For a more relaxed and indulgent way to explore Koh Samui, hiring a private car and driver is a fantastic option. This allows you to visit multiple sights at your own pace without worrying about driving, parking, or navigating the island’s roads. It’s also perfect if you plan to enjoy a few drinks during the day while exploring, which we definitely did.
We opted for this option during our stay and used Smile Samui Tours, a reliable company that provided excellent service. We hired a car and driver for THB 3,500 for 10 hours, which was a great way to comfortably visit several beaches, temples, and viewpoints. You can also book directly via their website.
Our Accommodation Experience: Hansar Samui and Vana Belle Resorts
We chose to stay in two distinct areas of Koh Samui - The Hansar Samui in Fisherman’s Wharf, and the Vana Belle at Chaweng Noi. Splitting our stay gave us a well-rounded experience of the island, allowing us to enjoy both the traditional charm of Fisherman’s Wharf and the secluded luxury of Chaweng Noi.
Hansar Samui
For the first part of our stay, we chose Hansar Samui, located right on Bophut Beach in Fisherman’s Wharf. This hotel is perfectly situated for exploring the area, and its location gave us immediate access to the shops and restaurants within Fisherman’s Wharf. Our room was an XL Double Room with a Sea View, spacious and elegantly designed, with a private balcony overlooking the ocean. The room featured earthy tones and wooden accents, creating a tranquil space to relax after a day of sightseeing.
The hotel has a variety of amenities that made our stay comfortable and enjoyable:
Infinity Pool: Hansar’s pool overlooks the beach and is a stunning spot to enjoy the ocean view while lounging in the sun.
Spa: Offering traditional Thai massages and other spa treatments, however was sadly fully booked while we were there.
Onsite Restaurant and Bar: The hotel’s restaurant serves both Thai and Western dishes, with a relaxed ambiance and fresh ingredients. Breakfast was a highlight, with options ranging from local Thai flavors to Western favorites.
For fitness enthusiasts, Hansar also has a small, well-equipped gym, perfect for a morning workout before exploring the island. The staff went above and beyond, even singing “Happy Birthday” to Phil on arrival. Won’t lie - it was slightly awkward, but nevertheless a lovely touch.

Vana Belle, a Luxury Collection Resort
For the second leg of our Koh Samui adventure, we checked into Vana Belle, a Luxury Collection Resort nestled on the pristine shores of Chaweng Noi. This wasn’t just a place to stay—it was an experience in itself. Vana Belle offers a serene, secluded escape, providing the perfect contrast to the lively buzz of Koh Samui's more crowded areas.
We stayed in an Ocean Pool Suite, and it was every bit as indulgent as it sounds. The suite featured a private infinity pool with ocean views, allowing us to soak up the island’s natural beauty in absolute privacy. Waking up to the sight of the turquoise sea from our bed and having the freedom to take a dip in our own pool at any time felt like the epitome of luxury.

Vana Belle’s amenities are designed to make every moment feel special:
Private Beach & Infinity Pool: The resort boasts direct access to Chaweng Noi Beach, often regarded as one of Koh Samui’s best beaches. The sand is powder-soft, and the crystal-clear waters are perfect for a refreshing swim. Unlike busier beaches, this stretch felt exclusive and peaceful—almost like our own private slice of paradise. When we weren’t lounging by our private pool, we’d relax at the resort’s stunning infinity pool, which seamlessly blends into the horizon.
24/7 Buggy Service: The resort grounds are expansive, but getting around is effortless with Vana Belle’s round-the-clock buggy service. We didn’t mind the walks around the resort, but it is a little hilly. The buggies are easy to book, and we found there was often someone driving around willing to pick us up if needed.
The Spa: Vana Belle’s luxurious spa is an oasis of tranquility, offering treatments inspired by traditional Thai healing techniques. We indulged in a couple of massages, both of which left us feeling completely rejuvenated. The spa’s serene ambiance, combined with the expertise of the therapists, made for an unforgettable experience.
Dining Options: Dining at Vana Belle was a highlight in itself. Their restaurants offer a blend of authentic Thai cuisine and international dishes, all crafted from fresh, locally-sourced ingredients. Meals are served against the stunning backdrop of the beachfront, turning even a simple breakfast into a memorable occasion. The staff were attentive to every detail, ensuring each meal was perfectly catered to our preferences. They also hold a fresh seafood barbeque at the weekends which was delicious.
Exceptional, Thoughtful Service
What truly set Vana Belle apart was the unparalleled level of care from the staff. From the moment we arrived, we were treated like royalty. The welcoming ceremony, where we floated a lotus leaf on water as a symbol of good fortune, set the tone for the thoughtful touches throughout our stay. Our lotus leaf sadly sank - not sure if that is a bad sign or not. Let’s hope not.
But it wasn’t just the ceremonial gestures—it was the genuine attentiveness of the staff that left a lasting impression. We were there for both our belated honeymoon and Phil’s birthday. The hotel staff filled the room with birthday treats and an anniversary message, although admittedly there was a little confusion over the gender of the honeymoon balloons (see pic above)!
Also, when Rom fell ill during our stay, the Vana Belle team went above and beyond to ensure his comfort. They checked in regularly, offered customised meals to help with recovery, and even had a staff member on standby to assist with any needs. We definitely felt looked after while there.

Day 4 Itinerary: Arrival and Settling In
We flew to Koh Samui from Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport on Bangkok Airways Flight PG 145. Upon landing, we were greeted by a private transfer arranged by our first hotel, the Hansar Samui, located in the lively Fisherman's Wharf area. The hotel staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive—they even sang “Happy Birthday” to Phil upon arrival, which was a lovely surprise.

Fisherman’s Wharf—also known as Fisherman’s Village—is one of Koh Samui’s most charming destinations, blending traditional Thai culture with a laid-back, beachside vibe. Located in Bophut on the island's northern coast, this area offers a mix of local flavor and upscale experiences, making it the perfect spot for both daytime exploring and evening entertainment.
The streets are lined with boutique shops, art galleries, and trendy beach bars, all set against a backdrop of rustic wooden buildings that give the village a unique charm. Whether you're strolling through the local markets or dining at one of the many seaside restaurants, Fisherman’s Wharf effortlessly combines authentic Thai experiences with a touch of modern sophistication.
One of the biggest draws to Fisherman’s Village is the Friday Night Market, a bustling event that attracts both locals and tourists. This lively market stretches along the main street and offers everything from handmade crafts and souvenirs to an incredible array of Thai street food. The aromas of sizzling satay, fresh seafood, and sweet mango sticky rice fill the air as vendors call out their specials.
The market is a great place to pick up locally made goods—think artisan jewelry, hand-carved trinkets, and colorful textiles—or simply soak in the festive atmosphere. Street performers and musicians add to the vibrant vibe, making it a fun and dynamic experience.
Coco Tam’s: Beachfront drnks & Fire Shows
On our first night, we checked out Coco Tam’s, a beachfront bar that perfectly captures the laid-back, tropical spirit of Koh Samui. The setting is pure island bliss: plush bean bags scattered across the beach, all facing the calming sea. With your feet in the sand and a cocktail in hand, it’s the perfect place to watch the sunset and unwind after a day of exploring.
But Coco Tam’s isn’t just about the relaxed vibes — their fire shows are a must-see. They host two fire performances each night, featuring talented performers who light up the beach with breathtaking displays of fire dancing, spinning, and juggling. The shows are impressive and energetic, set to pulsating music that adds to the electrifying atmosphere.
Top Tip:
Get to Coco Tam’s early if you want to snag a good spot on the beach. The bean bags fill up quickly, especially on Friday nights when the night market is in full swing. Order a Singha Beer and settle in for a night of entertainment under the stars.
Relaxation at Sakura Spa
After wandering through the village, we treated ourselves to a massage at Sakura Spa — a spot we loved so much, we ended up returning a couple of times during our stay. While there are plenty of spas up and down the strip, Sakura stood out for its welcoming atmosphere, clean facilities, and professional staff. The Thai massage here was exactly what we needed to shake off the travel fatigue and fully slip into vacation mode.

To cap off the night, we dined at The Shack, a well-known local steakhouse in Fisherman’s Village. The laid-back, rustic vibe of the restaurant complements its reputation for top-quality steaks and hearty sides. If you’re craving something other than Thai food, this is the place to go for a satisfying Western-style meal in a relaxed setting.
Day 5 Itinerary: Island Sightseeing with Smile Samui Tours
To make the most of our final full day on Koh Samui, we opted for a private car and driver through Smile Samui Tours for THB 3,500, which gave us 10 hours of sightseeing at our own pace.
We’ve used scooters on previous trips, like in Myanmar and the Philippines, and even had our International Driving Permits ready for Koh Samui. However, given the intense heat, the air-conditioned comfort of a private car felt like the perfect choice. Plus, we wanted the flexibility to enjoy a drink or two along the way while still being safe and stress-free.
For the price, it was exceptional value. Our driver was incredibly accommodating—he took note of the places we wanted to visit and even helped us plan the route strategically to avoid peak crowds at the busiest spots. The mix of flexibility, comfort, and local insight made it one of the best decisions of our trip, allowing us to explore Koh Samui’s gems without any of the usual travel stress.
Wat Phra Yai (Big Buddha): Our day started early with a visit to this iconic landmark. Located on a small island connected by a causeway, Wat Phra Yai is known for its towering golden Buddha statue that stands 12 meters tall. The temple offers panoramic views over the island and is a peaceful spot to visit.
Wat Plai Laem: Next, we visited Wat Plai Laem, a colorful temple complex featuring a statue of Guanyin, the Goddess of Mercy, and a large, laughing Buddha statue. The temple is set on a lake filled with fish, and visitors can apparently purchase food to feed them (although we didn’t), which is believed to bring good fortune. The vibrant setting, intricate artwork, and serene atmosphere make this temple a must-visit for anyone interested in Thai culture.
Top tip - go early to avoid the crowds. We went before breakfast and we were the only ones there at both spots.
After our temple visits, we returned to Hansar for a leisurely breakfast before heading out to explore some of Koh Samui’s beautiful beaches.
Choeng Mon Beach: A beautiful, laid-back spot located on the northeastern coast of Koh Samui. Known for its tranquil vibe, Choeng Mon attracts a quieter crowd, making it ideal for couples, families, and those looking for a more relaxed beach experience. The area is home to some of Koh Samui’s more upscale resorts, including the Kimpton Kitalay and Royal Muang Samui Villas, catering to travelers who want a touch of luxury while enjoying a peaceful beachfront setting. We were actually originally considering staying at the Kimpton Kitalay, however ultimately opted for the Vana Belle as Chaweng Noi beach was too good to miss.
Choeng Mon Beach is slightly rocky in parts, so it’s not the best for swimming compared to other beaches on the island. However, its shallow waters make it perfect for wading and ideal for families with young children. The beach is dotted with shaded areas and a few beachside bars and restaurants, offering a pleasant and relaxed setting for a quiet day by the sea.
Choeng Mon is easily accessible by taxi or motorbike from most parts of Koh Samui, particularly from popular areas like Chaweng or Bophut, which are only a short drive away. The peaceful atmosphere and lower crowds make it a worthwhile stop if you're looking to unwind away from busier beaches.
We spent some time soaking up the sun at Choeng Mon Beach before heading to Pi Samui, a charming beachfront restaurant that perfectly blends authentic Thai flavors with a laid-back atmosphere. The open-air seating offers uninterrupted views of the ocean, letting us enjoy the sound of the waves while we dined.
The menu at Pi Samui features a variety of classic Thai dishes made with fresh, local ingredients. The restaurant’s casual vibe and friendly staff made it an ideal spot to unwind after a morning in the sun. Whether you’re in the mood for a light snack or a full meal, Pi Samui delivers an unforgettable beachside dining experience.
In the afternoon, we made our way to Silver Beach, a hidden gem tucked between Chaweng and Lamai. Also known as Crystal Bay, this small, secluded beach is renowned for its powdery white sand, clear turquoise waters, and dramatic granite boulders that frame the shoreline. It’s the kind of beach that feels like a well-kept secret — less crowded than Koh Samui’s more popular spots, offering a peaceful escape for those looking to connect with the island’s natural beauty.
The calm, shallow waters make Silver Beach perfect for swimming and snorkeling. We spent the afternoon lounging on the sand, taking occasional dips in the refreshingly cool sea. If you’re looking for a tranquil beach day away from the crowds, Silver Beach is the perfect slice of paradise.
As the sun began to set, we headed to The Roof for a beer with a view, wrapping up a full day of sightseeing and relaxation.
The Roof Samui is a unique, hillside bar and restaurant that offers stunning panoramic views of the island and surrounding ocean. Situated on a mountainside, The Roof is known for its incredible vistas, particularly at sunset, making it a popular spot for both locals and tourists looking for a memorable evening experience.
To get to The Roof, you’ll need to take a taxi up the mountain; the taxi ride incurs a fee (approximately THB 200-300 depending on your starting location). The ascent is worth it, though, as The Roof is thoughtfully designed to make the most of its elevated setting. Guests can relax on cozy bean bags, arranged to overlook the island’s scenic views, providing an intimate and comfortable vibe.
One of the highlights at The Roof is its overhanging nets, which are stretched over the edge of the hillside. These nets allow visitors to lounge above the drop-off, adding a hint of adventure while enjoying the view. The relaxed ambiance, combined with the unique seating options and breathtaking scenery, makes The Roof a memorable spot for an evening drink and sunset.
That night, we enjoyed another massage at Sakura Spa and dined at Krua Bophut, a traditional Thai restaurant known for its delicious local cuisine and friendly service.

Day 6 Itinerary: Transition to Chaweng Noi and Vana Belle
The following day, we checked out of Hansar and were picked up by the Vana Belle hotel’s private transfer, marking the start of our stay in Chaweng Noi. Vana Belle, a luxurious beachfront resort, provided a tranquil escape and offered a different experience of Koh Samui. We stayed in an Ocean Pool Suite, which featured a private pool with a view of the ocean—a perfect setting for relaxation.
Upon arrival, Vana Belle staff welcomed us with a unique Thai ceremony, where we floated a lotus leaf in the water, symbolising good luck and new beginnings. The resort also featured a decorative elephant and fish statue in the pool, representing prosperity and harmony. The attention to detail and the serene ambiance at Vana Belle made it an exceptional stay. See here for more information on the Vana Belle.
We spent our first day here relaxing on Chaweng Noi Beach—arguably one of the nicest beaches we’ve ever visited, with soft sand, crystal-clear water, and an uncrowded atmosphere.
Day 7 Itinerary: Exploring Angthong Marine Park

Ang Thong National Marine Park is a breathtaking archipelago of 42 islands in the Gulf of Thailand, renowned for its towering limestone cliffs, hidden lagoons, and pristine beaches. It’s the perfect destination for nature lovers, adventure seekers, and anyone looking to experience the untouched beauty of Thailand’s coastline.
To truly make the most of our visit, we decided to book a private speedboat tour through Koh Samui Tours. While there are plenty of group tours available—ranging from large boat excursions to shared speedboat trips—we wanted an experience that offered both comfort and freedom to explore at our own pace. We could choose how long to stay at each spot, and skip stops if we wanted more time oelsewhere. It also helped us avoid the crowds by arriving early at busy spots or lingering after others left. The boat also offered unmatched comfort and privacy, with no need to squeeze in with strangers.

Our Itinerary
Morning Departure: The day began with a convenient pickup from our hotel around 8:30 AM. We were transferred to the pier, where we boarded our private speedboat for the journey to Ang Thong. The ride itself was an experience, offering scenic views of the surrounding islands and the shimmering Gulf of Thailand.
First Stop – Koh Mae Ko and the Emerald Lake: Our first destination was Koh Mae Ko, home to the stunning Emerald Lake (Thale Nai). A short but steep hike led us to a viewpoint overlooking this saltwater lagoon, which is surrounded by dramatic limestone cliffs. The vivid green of the lake against the rugged landscape was one of the highlights of the day.
Snorkeling Adventure: Next, we moved to a nearby snorkeling spot. The clear waters were home to colorful coral reefs and vibrant marine life. While the underwater scenery was enjoyable, it wasn’t as spectacular as some of the snorkeling spots we’ve visited in the Philippines, which set a high bar for comparison.
Final Stop – Koh Wua Talap and the Viewpoint: Midday, we stopped at Koh Wua Talap, the park's headquarters island, for lunch. The restaurant there is a buffet-style, and seemed to be where all the tours stopped for food. Being on a private tour meant we had a private table reserved, and the food was separately prepared, including curry, salad and fruit. The food was tasty and freshly prepared, with options that catered to different tastes. We actually had loads of food - probably more than we could eat - and was definitely one of the selling points of the private tour.
After lunch, we chose to hike to the viewpoint, which offers sweeping panoramic views of the archipelago. The hike was challenging due to its steep incline and takes around 40 minutes to an hour, but the effort was well worth it for the incredible scenery at the top. For those who prefer to relax, the beach on this island is also a fantastic spot to unwind. After the hike back down, we cooled off with a dip in the sea.
Highlights of the Day
Emerald Lake (Thale Nai): This tranquil lagoon, framed by towering limestone cliffs, is one of the most photographed spots in Ang Thong. The color of the water is almost surreal, making it a must-see.

Reflections on the Experience
While Ang Thong Marine Park is undeniably stunning, our experience was slightly less immersive compared to private tours we’ve taken in the Philippines. The activities were enjoyable, but some felt a bit rushed, and the snorkeling didn’t quite match the vibrant reefs we’ve seen elsewhere. That said, the scenery alone makes this trip worthwhile, and the private speedboat option allowed us to avoid some of the crowds, however was quite pricey at THB 29,950, and we’re not sure we would do it again.
Practical Tips for Visiting Ang Thong
What to Bring: Pack swimwear, a towel, sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, and sturdy shoes for hiking. Don’t forget a camera to capture the stunning landscapes.
Fitness Level: The hikes, particularly to Koh Wua Talap's viewpoint, can be challenging, so a moderate level of fitness is recommended.
Cost: The private tour cost THB 29,950, which included hotel transfers, snorkeling equipment, lunch, and soft drinks.
Timing: Plan for a full-day excursion, as the tour typically starts around 8:30 AM and returns by 5:00 PM.
Day 8 Itinerary: Sightseeing and Relaxation
Unfortunately, Rom started experiencing a bout of food poisoning after a spicey skewer from Chaweng Night Market, so we took it easy. However, we had another private car booked through Smile Samui Tours, and our driver helped us make the most of the day.
Hin Ta and Hin Yai Rocks: Known as the Grandfather and Grandmother Rocks, these cheeky formations are famous for their “unusual” shapes resembling….. Well, you can use your imagination. Admittedly the Grandfather Rock (pictured) is the more obvious one. The rocks are located near Lamai Beach and are a popular photo spot with scenic coastal views.
Lipa Noi Beach: We continued to Lipa Noi, a peaceful, family-friendly beach on the island’s western side. Known for its shallow waters and scenic sunsets, Lipa Noi provided a serene setting to unwind.
A SPECIAL MENTION: HACHIYA ROASTERY
Throughout our sightseeing days, we found ourselves gravitating back to Hachiya Roastery, a hidden gem that quickly became our go-to coffee spot in Koh Samui. Tucked away from the busier tourist areas, this cozy yet stylish café is known for its exceptionally crafted brews and welcoming atmosphere.
The moment you step inside, you’re greeted by a minimalist, modern design that feels both inviting and calming. The attention to detail here is impressive—from the sleek interior to the perfectly balanced flavors in every cup. Their signature pour-overs and smooth, rich espressos were fantastic, but it was their iced drinks that really stole the show.
We couldn’t get enough of the Iced Valencia, a refreshing blend of espresso and zesty orange that perfectly balanced citrusy brightness with rich coffee flavors. It was the ultimate cool-down after a hot morning of exploring. Another favorite was the Iced Matcha Espresso Latte, a unique fusion of earthy matcha and bold espresso, creating a smooth, slightly sweet drink with just the right kick of caffeine. Both were absolute game-changers and had us coming back for more!
But it wasn’t just the coffee that kept us hooked—the friendly staff and relaxed vibe made it a perfect spot to unwind, plan our next adventures, or simply sit back and soak in the atmosphere. Whether you're a coffee aficionado or just looking for a cool spot to escape the heat, Hachiya Roastery is a must-visit on your Koh Samui itinerary.

After a leisurely day of exploring, we returned to Vana Belle to unwind by the beach, letting the gentle sounds of the waves and the soft, golden light of the setting sun mark the end of our Koh Samui adventure. As we lounged on the powdery sands of Chaweng Noi Beach, we couldn’t help but reflect on the incredible mix of experiences the island had offered—from bustling markets and serene temples to hidden beaches and unforgettable sunsets.
